My secret beauty weapon!

Looks like a pillow!? Well you are right, but this is no ordinary pillow. This pillow will probably save you thousands of pounds in the long run, prevents wrinkles, bed head and is quite frankly a 'dream' to sleep on...literally!

A while back when I was putting on my night lotions and potions, I thought I wish I would have put my creams on a couple of hours before I was going to sleep, so that they had chance to sink into the skin and do their magic and not end up all on my pillow!

I was finding that as soon as I had put the creams on and when my head touched the pillow, the pillow was soaking up all the goodness that I just put on my face.

I was also noticing when I woke up that I was creating deep lines on my face from where I was sleeping, not to mention the hair fallout from moving whilst sleeping. Also, when I woke, my not so fabulous 'bed head'!

After a little inspection, I put this all down to my cotton pillowcase. I was aware that cotton is a natural 'soaker-upper' if you like, super absorbent. I got thinking that that is where all my night creams have probably ended up, not in my skin but in my pillow! After some initial research I looked into satin pillowcases but found that they can be partly made out of cotton too. However, silk, on the other hand is not absorbent. After a little internet trawling I found the remedy to my situation... this little beauty (above right).

This is an organic 100% silk pillowcase. The company is called silkskin. I first read that Nigella Lawson and Amy Adams to name a few swear by them. Now, I don't know if you have seen pictures of Nigella Lawson who is in her fifties lately; but if this is helping her, I'll take it!!

Ok, the pillow case itself is quite pricey but if you think about it, if you buy expensive moisturisers, or even cheap moisturisers, you are wasting your money and time. By the time you have moved a few times on your existing pillow before you go to sleep, your moisturiser is no more, and can be found on your pillow!

Let me tell you my experience...

it does exactly what it says on the packet. It is lovely to sleep on, so soft! When I slept at a hotel recently their cotton sheets felt like sand paper! Unfortunately, I still have my morning line on my face, where I have slept but this disappears without a trace quite quickly. No bed head, or hair fallout for that matter! My night creams still feel like they are on and have done an excellent job through the night when I wake up!

This all in all is a great product and probably is one of the lesser known anti aging products that best of all, is natural!

I love mine and will not be going back to sleeping on anything but my silkskin pillow case.
